IT Engineer / Marketer and various others

Taylormade Fasteners Limited, Willenhall

During my time at Taylormade Fasteners, I performed various tasks ranging from basic software support, troubleshoot & repair, through to more extensive projects (eg. creating new Active Directories, their users, shares and Exchange on-premise // migrating from Exchange 2010 -> Microsoft 365 Exchange). I would also be in charge setting up new staff machines with new Windows installations (installed via PXE through a deployment environment setup by myself onsite), conditioned with new software that the user would need to crack on with their day to day tasks (this also makes reformatting devices easier if we ever want to refresh machines). I also performed a move from network shares onsite to Sharepoint for all shared files and OneDrive for all personal files and basic backing up of data. This was brought in following the Coronavirus-19 outbreak, allowing us to work from home more effectively during the pandemic.

I would also look after the marketing by taking photos of products when special parts are manufactured to customer drawings in-house, utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud's Photoshop and Lightroom to edit photos to make them both eye-catching and to draw in new customers. Furthermore, I would use an array of tools for scheduling uploads and viewing post analytics to see how posts are performing then utilizing this to further improve my marketing materials. These photos would then be used along with supporting information on the website to show machined products and new investments that the company has made to further aid sales.

IT and Business Administrator

NISA Local, Walsall

During my time I moved into a role that allowed me to learn how businesses functioned backend through being a Business Administrator. I assisted with Tax and VAT management as well as finance for the business. I also calculated the hours staff had worked and dealt with the accountant to sort pay slips and hand out payments to the employees. I took stock counts and used this information to work out what was selling well and what was not, to later put the weekly orders through for the staff to restock the shelves and keep the supply topped up.

CAD Engineer Work Experience

Traditional Structures

During my time of Work Experience here at Trad Structures, I was shown the basics of how the company makes their steel work, how the steel is erected, and how the items are fastened together using specialised nuts and bolts made for specific jobs. This allowed me a greater understanding of graphic design and gave me the experience of using a computer to aid in the design and manufacture of structural steelwork.

Interests

When working, I enjoy performing the research to complete something new, something I understand however may not have put into practice. I will record my findings so that I can further develop both in my career and in my personal development portfolio - something I record by creating how-to guides using Notion to structure and refer to at a later stage.

When I am not working, I enjoy playing games and streaming this on Twitch or YouTube from time to time. I also enjoy working on my homelab to test how new hardware and software. I spend a large amount of my free time exploring the latest technology advancements in the world.
